Whitwick Engineering (Coalville)

WEC’s extensive experience in the aggregates, cement, steel, ready mixed concrete and recycling industries, coupled with a commitment to design and innovation, ensure that all solutions not only precisely match customers’ requirements, but give a competitive advantage in processes as diverse as:

Conveyors and conveying systems

Capacities up to 6,000MTPH for a wide variety of materials with different handling properties, as overland systems or integral with process plants, bulk handling and storage facilities.

Hard rock quarry plant

Sand and gravel processing plants

Processing a wide range of geological deposits, such as marine, glacial, bunter and a variety of river terrace deposits with capacities of up to 650MTPH, including washing, dewatering and water/waste treatment

Hard rock processing plants

Static hard rock crushing and screening plants with capacities of up to 1,000MTPH for limestone, granite, basalt and other materials, producing concrete and asphalt aggregates, manufactured sands, rail ballast and other construction materials

Enclosed belt conveyor

Mineral processing plants

Ore crushing and screening plants with capacities of up to 1,000MTPH for a wide range of materials including iron ore, bauxite, coals and other minerals.

Ship loading and unloading

Custom designed and built systems with the flexibility to handle a large range of port requirements, ship sizes and configurations, as well as considerable tidal ranges.

Capacities range from 400-4,000MTPH – for sands, aggregates, ores, coal and biomass pellets and other potentially hazardous materials.

Rail loading and unloading

Specialized configurations to handle aggregates, sand, ores, coal and a variety of other materials. WEC have innovative designs for roll-over discharge pits, including conventional Deep Pit Design to accommodate a full rail wagon load of material below the rail level; Shallow Pit Design with 30 tonnes of material below the rail level, providing a considerable saving on foundation costs; and Ultra Shallow Pit with horizontal conveyor recovery, to maintain depth requirement for the foundations to barely 2 metres

Hard Rock Washing & Scrubbing

WEC have proven designs for washing primary crushed material and scalping with infeed sizes to 250mm, reducing wastage to a minimum and increasing saleable material and production profit.

In cases when a scrubber barrel or log-washer will not work due to the lack of coarse material necessary for attrition, cavitational scrubbing is employed, to dislodge clays and mud adhering to the surface of the sand or fine aggregate.

Alternative fuels, often manufactured from processed domestic refuse, (‘Climafuel’) give considerable reductions in fuel costs. WEC are experienced in engineering and installing Climafuel systems with the associated specialist materials handling equipment needed for difficult and hazardous materials

The Brolton Group and WEC have entered into a Joint Venture partnership for Australia and New Zealand, and will be working closely with WEC to provide the Australian mining and bulk handling industries with a powerful combination of experience, expertise and capabilities for process and bulk handling project design and supply.

We are now able to provide a complete service, covering all requirements – from concept and initial design, through to final installation and commissioning, and embracing the capability to incorporate all local and statutory requirements, and bring our joint experience and expertise to all Australian and New Zealand companies looking for integrated solutions within the industries we serve.
